A Search for the truth (part 13)

A Search for the truth (part 13)

This week we are going to take the focus away from the case at hand
a little and place it a little more on just what is right and what
is wrong when it comes to police (sheriff) procedures, some
important terms and just how they apply to this case as well as
everyday life. We will also take a look at just who is in charge of
over seeing the police (sheriff) and who to report problems as well
as why.
______________________________

POLICE DEVIANCE & ETHICS:
This is a very gray area. In some cases the police are permitted to
release false information to the media and public to protect an ongoing case. There are even cases (more then we would care to know about) where the police are aloud to lie to people when questioning
them regarding an investigation.

This is commonly known as “the dark side of criminal justice”. The
dark side is the reason that police are trained to be deceptive at
interviewing and interrogation.

Police deviance is a much broader term than corruption. It includes
all activities, which are inconsistent with norms, values, or ethics.

There are other terms that fall into police deviance & ethics, when
used in an improper manner they constitute illegal behavior on the
part of the police. These terms include (but are not limited) to the
following:

Deviance -- behavior inconsistent with norms, values, or ethics.

Corruption -- forbidden acts involving misuse of office for gain.

Misconduct -- wrongdoing violations of departmental procedures.

Favoritism -- unfair "breaks" to friends or relatives (nepotism).

In the case that we are reviewing it is clear that all four of these
definitions fit.

There are also specific terms relating directly to Police Corruption
and Misconduct.

They are frequently classified as one of the three below:

Malfeasance -- intentional commission of a prohibited act or
intentional unjust performance of some act of which the party had no
right (e.g., gratuity, perjury, use of police resources for personal
use).

Misfeasance -- performance of a duty or act that one is obligated or
permitted to do in a manner which is improper, sloppy, or negligent
(e.g., report writing, unsafe operation of motor vehicle,
aggressively "reprimanding" a citizen, improper searching of
suspect).

Nonfeasance -- failure to perform an act which one is obligated to
do either by law or directive due to omission or failure to
recognize the obligation (e.g., failure to file report, improper
stop & frisk, security breach).

Out of the three Misfeasance and Nonfeasance clearly fit the
officers in the case we are reviewing.
______________________________

How does this apply to not only this case, but to all of us?

If you are a victim in a crime, given the information above it is
clear that the police can lie to you. Officers also have a right to
use deceptive and interrogation procedures to retain information.
Therefore just where is the line drawn and where do your rights kick
in?

That is a very fine line. In most cases it is at the discretion of
the officer involved. However, in a case such as with the murder of
these three boys that we are reviewing, that line is very clear.
When the local authorities refuse assistance from outside (official)
parties in a case that is far beyond anything they have experienced
in the past or have the proper means to investigate to the fullest
extent needed for that case, it is clearly Misfeasance and
Nonfeasance.

There is another line that is not to be crossed by the authorities.
That’s is police brutality! Many people think that police brutality
requires being physically struck by a police officer. That is a
common myth. The fact is that verbal abuse and harassment can apply
here as well. This includes unwarranted warnings, threats,
unjustified searches, etc. When applied in the wrong way by an
officer, a lot of things can fall under this category.

Why is this all important? We are going to start taking a twist on
this case. We are going to start applying the facts that we have
learned over the past weeks in these areas. This case will never be
reviewed because we would like it to. But together, we will sort out
the little details that fall into these categories and present a
case as to why the case needs to be reviewed and what the local
officers did that was not within their rights to do.

As we continue with this case, I want everyone to express their
experiences with the police (sheriff) that may fall into these
categories as well as their views on how these terms apply to this
case. By sharing your experiences and combining them with this case,
we will unfold the little facts that have yet to be reviled.

This is our crime scene; you are now becoming the investigator.
Apply your experience, knowledge, research and common sense. See
where it takes us. I think we all will be surprised at the results.
______________

What to do with this information as it unfolds?
Naturally we can’t just walk it into the local sheriff’s office.
There would be a good chance we would end up being arrested for
harassment, harassed as a result or simply laughed out of the
office.

So, should we gather our results and do nothing? Not at all! To get
results we need to take it to the proper places. Every state has an
internal affairs department (or equivalent). Then there is (in this
case) The Alabama Democratic Party, we all know the pull they have
and the fact that they do not want trouble, especially with
everything going within government today. There is also The Federal
Department of Justice; the local authorities have no influence when
it comes to these people. These are only naming a few places to take
this information, when the time comes the list will be much longer.

Police Brutality & Police Misconduct is very serious charges, and
will require justification before being reviewed by higher
officials. That is why we all need to work as a team on this one.

I say on this one for a reason. We have another mother that joined
us. Her son is also dead; there are questionable facts on the case.
I am considering contacting her to make her case the next one that
we review as a group and continue “a search for the truth”.
_____________

Below I am also including two items I found on a site involved with
police corruption throughout the United State. I think they will
prove to be of interest to all.

Can We Trust the Cops?
Are police officers allowed to lie to you? Yes the Supreme Court has
ruled that police can sink to the lowest of low and be deceitful and
lie while questioning you.

Police officers are very good at lying, twisting words and they are
trained to be manipulative. Don't try to out smart the officer, or
try being a smooth talker, because you will loose! If you can keep
your mouth shut, you might just come out ahead more then you expected

Police officers and other law enforcement agents are very skilled at
getting information from people. Many people are afraid that if they
refuse to cooperate, it will appear as if they have something to
hide. Don't be fooled. The police are allowed to (and do) LIE to
you.

The federal government made a law that says citizens can't lie to
federal agents. They can lie to us, but we can't lie to them. Makes
perfect since don't it? The best thing you can do is ask for a
lawyer and keep your mouth shut. How can you be charged with
something if you haven’t said anything?

Although police officers may seem nice and pretend to be on your
side, they are likely to be intent on learning about the habits,
opinions, and affiliations of people not suspected of wrongdoing,
with the end goal of stopping political activity with which the
government disagrees. Don't try to answer the police officers
questions, or try to "educate them" about your cause, it can be very
dangerous! You can never tell how a seemingly harmless bit of
information that you give the police officer might be used and
misconstrued to hurt you or someone else. And keep in mind that
lying to a federal agent is a crime.

Officers may promise shorter sentences and other deals for
statements or confessions. The police cannot legally make deals with
people they arrest. The only person who can make a deal that can be
enforced is the prosecutor, and he should not talk with you without
a lawyer present who represents you.

Teach your children that the cops are not always their friends, and
the police officer must contact a parent for permission to ask your
child any questions. Remember that the police are trained to put you
at ease and to get you to trust them. Their job is to find, arrest
and help convict a suspect. And that suspect is you!

Remember that the officer is not trying to be your buddy and become
a new friend, they are on a "fishing expedition" to find something
against you! They have nothing criminal on you, so there looking for
anything while they have you pulled over. Also keep in mind that the
entire conversation is being recorded and video taped by the police.
Remember to speak clearly and look at the video camera in the police
car and say "AM I FREE TO GO?" and/or "I DO NOT CONSENT TO THIS
SEARCH!"
_____________________________
Lies That The Police Use To Get You To Talk.

There are many ways the police will try to trick you into talking.
Its always safest just to say the Magic Words: I am going to remain
silent. I want a lawyer.

The following are common lines the police use when they’re trying to
get you to talk:
* "You will have to stay here and answer my questions" or "You're
not leaving until I find out what I want."
* "I have evidence on you. Tell me what I want to know or else."
(They can fabricate ''fake'' evidence to convince you to tell them
what they want to know.)
* "You’re not a suspect. Were simply investigating here. Just help
us understand what happened and then you can go."
* "If you don’t answer my questions, I won’t have any choice but to
take you to jail."
* "If you don’t answer these questions, you’ll be charged with
resisting arrest."

You don’t have to answer any of the police officers questions.
Simply say: I have nothing to say! I would like to speak to a
lawyer. When the police officer says: Why you want a lawyer, you’re
not under arrest. Then you would say: AM I FREE TO GO?

 The Waves of Tomorrow

The Waves of Tomorrow

The waves on Shore Front Pkwy (in Queens, NY)were originally built
in 1939 as a waiting station for public transportation. In the mid
90’s they were on the verge of being torn down due to excessive wear
and high maintenance. That is until 1997 when Esther Grillo got an
idea to turn them into a work of art for all beach goers to enjoy.

After about 9 years work and countless hours “The Waves” along Shore
Front has become “The Waves of Tomorrow” for many of the
communities’ youth. One of which is Cindy. Cindy now 15 has been
helping each year sense she was 11 years old. Though she expresses
the pleasure that she found through the small things like when she
first learned to hold a brush, too the more advanced things like the
mixing and blending of colors. There is another side of what The
Waves has taught her. Through the past 4 years, Cindy has helped
other youth learn and felt their thrill of accomplishment; she has
applied her learning’s to fashion designing, abstract art and other
areas of her life. Though her learning she has even won an art award
upon graduating Junior High School. Cindy hopes to one day become an
artist and start her own aprentership program like this.

Cindy is only one of over 250 volunteers sense the annual
restoration project began in 1997. Volunteers from 6 years old to 60
have did their part, and like Cindy many of them will continue to
help to continue keeping the Rockaway’s a beautiful place to live as
well as visit.

Esther Grillo spends countless hours with paper work to obtain
grants and permits for this yearly project, with a very small
portion of funding coming from donations, the sale of prints and t
shirts. Though it is a lot of hard work, she says that a lot of
credit needs to go to The Rockaway Artist Alliance and the Parks
Department for their support. Other major support through the years
for this project came through DCA (Dept. of Cultural Affairs),
Addabo, Audrey Pheffer, The Wave, former commissioner Murphy, Leroy
Temple to mention a few.

Esther’s work has gained recognition like the MTA Creative Stations
award for “Search for Harmony Bay” at the Howard Beach subway
station and placement in the Queens State Museum of her monumental
sculpture “For A living”, but her biggest reward is seeing today’s
youth take what they learn by helping and applying it in their daily
lives and goals.

Youth volunteers learn more then art. They learn commitment,
communication skills, responsibility, most of all what it feels like
to be part of something that benefits the community.

Anyone in the area that is interested in volunteering is welcome to
stop by. This year’s restoration project is expected do go well into
August. Esther will be out there Monday – Friday from 10am until 3pm
(weather permitting). Children helping 3 days or more will earn a
Community Service Certificate. Esther Grillo can be reached
through the Rockaway Artist Alliance.

 World War III

World War III

Yes you read it right, World War III.

Though you may not see it in the head lines, and the media as well
as the government has been refraining from saying it, the fact is we
are in the middle of what history will declare as the third world
war.

Reviewing the facts it is all clear.

During WWI which started on June 28, 1914. The war lasted 4 years, 3
months and 14 days. There a total of just over 11,000,000
casualties. The war cost in excess of $196 billion dollars. WWI
involved 23 countries including the following: Australia, Austria,
Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece,
India, Italy, Japan, Montenegro, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal,
Rhodesia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Turkey and The
United States.

Over 20 years later WW2 Started on September 1, 1939. The second
world war lasted just over 6 years and produced a total of just over
59,000,000 causalities. The Second World War cost in excess of $2
billion dollars. During this war there were a total of 50 countries,\
which included the following: Albania, Algeria, Australia
Austria, Belgium, Borneo, Bulgaria, Burma, Canada, Ceylon, Chile,
China, Congo, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, Eritrea,
Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain,
Greece, Grenada, Gilbert Islands, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iraq,
Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaya, Malta, Marshall Islands,
Morocco, Netherlands, New Guinea, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway,
Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sicily,
Singapore, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Africa, Soviet Union,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, The
United States, Vietnam and Yugoslavia.

That brings us to today and what is the unsaid Third World War.

555 days after September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade
Centers, on March 20, 2003 the war began. Over 57 years after WWII
ended. This war is not only still ongoing; fighting has broken out
in other countries as well. Though the basis of the other wars may
differ, the bottom line throughout them is terrorism. Stats below
are based on the Iraq war and do not include the Israel and Lebanon
war.

Though only time will tell what the duration of the current wars
will be or just how many countries will be at war before it is over,
the facts to date are over whelming. The cost is already in excess
of $297,382,000,000 dollars. The causalities are well past the 2500
mark; this does not include over 40,000 in Iraq. Plus over 8,00
others wounded. These stats only include the Iraq war and do not
include the recent war with Israel and Lebanon.

The countries involved or are suggested to benefit (for various
reasons) from the current wars total 32, including the following:
Albania, Australia, Bahrain: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Great Britain, Hungary, Israel, Italy,
Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Oman, Poland,
Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain,
Turkey, United Arab Emirates and The United States.

Given the history behind WWI and WWII, and looking at the facts on
current wars, there is no way to deny that WWIII is upon us.

As you watch the current wars over seas on your nightly news,
consider the facts above and think about just how much is not being
presented to the public.

A search for the Truth (part 12)

A search for the Truth (part 12)

The Search Continues

As I am starting to get back into the swing of things after my
surgery and I’m still not at 100%, I will be making this weeks
update a little sorter then normal.

This week’s update is titled “The Search Continues” and with good
reason. After almost 3 months of presenting facts and talking
through the comments section, we have covered a lot of ground. But
with all that was covered, we did not reach our goal.

In an attempt to make things easier, I updated a few things on the
site. The weekly chat for “A Search for the Truth” on Sunday nights
will now be easier to access. It will no longer require those who
want to join in to download the toolbar.

With a web based chat room provided free by IRCtoo Chat Network.
Anyone who enters the site can join in. Simply see the area
titled “The Weekly News chat room” at the top of our main page at
www.TheWeeklyNews.inof.

The chat room is available 24/7, so feel free to use it to meet with
your friends and talk about any of our articles when ever you would
like.

I have also updated the links to the past articles.

During my absence Debbi has been working hard to keep the article
going. I think she deserves a lot of credit for her efforts. Please
post this week and let her know how you think she did while I was
out.

In the past few weeks, we had a few new people join in on the
comments area. Some of them are local to where the murders took
place. This in itself is a break through. The local community has
also been making it known that they are aware of our following this
story by stopping Debbi in public places and commenting on the
articles.

This means that we are reaching the public. That is the first major
step in getting results. We as a group need to continue by joining
in on the weekly chats and posting comments.

There has been note made of some hassle in posting under the
articles. If you have any trouble, e-mail your comments to
TheTruth@AKpcsales.net , be sure to make a note to post your e-mail
and we will be happy to add your comments to the articles for you.

Though we are not getting into too much detail this week (it being
my first week back), I would still like to know what you think about
the local people getting more involved and speaking up. This has not
happened sense the murders originally took place. Also post (or e
mail) your comments showing your support to the communities let them
know they are doing the right thing by speaking up.

Next week I will return to our original format of presenting
additional facts on the case. I hope to continue building the
following and be able to send out the next set of letters in the
very near future.
