Debbi has been filling in for me while I am limited to my time at the computer and tending to medical needs. In doing so, she conducted an interview with Earl, the farther of Jason who was one of the boys murdered (and a former employee of the Sheriff's Dept.)
I think Debbi and Earl has both done a great job on this interview. I would like to aks that everyone pay special attention to some of the comments made by Earl and keep in mind his past employment with the Sheriff's Dept. and extensive military background.
Post your comments as well as anything you would like to say to Earl. We will be sure to get your messages to him.
I would also like to thank everyone for their continued support in my absence as well as Debbi's for her hard work to keep things together. I will be back in full force in the next week or so.
Thanks, A. Wallace

The interview with Earl
1. Can you tell me your opinion of each of the boys, what were they like? Jason was loving, kind, and good, husband and father. He would do anything to help anyone. He'd speak his mind to make his point, but would not EVER HURT, anyone. Scooter, I did not know really well. I had only met him 1 or 2 times, but I've heard he was alot like Jason, a really good boy. Daniel, and I had had a few problems when he was younger. He and I went round and round about stirring up dust, at the end of our road....and it getting into my swimming pool. But, he was a kid having fun, and when I confronted him, I never had him give me any trouble. 2. Do you know of anyone who would have wanted the boys to die in this manner, or any conflicts or enemies, the boys may of had? NO WAY !!!!!! These boys were good kids. They might drink a beer, but they did not get into trouble, and they loved life. The only one that I can name, that Jason had a confrontation with, was Ralph Hall. Jason's brother Russell had hit a mail box belonging to Ralph Hall. Mrs. Vaughn and Hall, yelled and screamed at the boys about the mailbox. Russell's Dad, Wayne, went down and fixed the mailbox, with pulling it back straight, with a rope, and his bumper. After that, everything seemed fine. 3. How were you notified of Jason's death? My ex-wife Wanda, notified me. Even though I worked at the Sheriff's Department, no Official came to me, and notified me. 4. Do you agree with the account of what the Lee County Sheriff's Department is saying about what happened, on March 26, 2004...to all the boys? No, but I don't really know what all, really did happen. It was such a BIG SECRET, about the boys' deaths, and why!!!!!! Why does it have to be such a mystery of the secret of the boys deaths? And as for Sheriff Jones....he has total power over the county, and every Sheriff before him, has been the same way. Only the FBI and ABI, would be above, Sheriff Jones' authority. 5. Do you feel Mr. Vaughn is the shooter, the only person, who was involved in murdering the boys? I do not no, I can say yes, because that is what has been told to all the families. But then....I can say NO, also. It doesn't make any sense, if Vaughn did do the murders, why is Jones covering up and why did the Opelika Police Chief, tell me, Jones refused assistance from his department with dogs, additional help, and additional Investigators? This case was so different then anything that has happened around here before. The Officials should have had every agency around, and available, to help figure out what happened to my son Jason, and his 2 friends. Instead, they refused all help, and have done nothing but tell the families lies, or cover-up for what really happened. 6. Do you know Mr. Hall personally? Not really, I worked with Hall, at Uniroyal, and at the Lee County Sheriff Office. Never have seen him with the fire dept. except when he, "just dropped by", when I had congestive heart failure. The paramedics were already at my home, and working on me, when Ralph walked in, and started telling them how to treat me. Everything he was suggesting, was wrong. The paramedics, finally asked him to stand outside, because he was being so intrusive, trying to take over for the paramedics, and he did not know what....he was talking about. At Uniroyal, he never did much work, always said he had a migraine headache. And when he, first started at the volunteer fire department, in Beauregard, as a dispatcher....he was so arrogant. Even if a call was outside the jurisdiction, Ralph would turn on his siren, and red light, and would go so fast...he'd run people off the road. Do you know that Ralph Hall was against 4-wheelers? I do not know if Hall was present during Our Boys murders, but why was he, the first on the scene, and also, the first on the scene, with Mr. Vaughn? 7. Does anything in this case seem, not quite right, or bother you? Yes, how did Jones know the type of weapon used? Even though the ballistic report states several types of weapons could have been used, Jones told me personally...and kept telling me repeatedly, the same weapon. How did he know, if the murder weapon has never been recovered? I feel the Sheriff Department has the weapon, knows of the weapon, or a neighbor is keeping the weapon, from being tested. Why did Russell not go to the Grand Jury Hearing. Russell was the only eye-witness, yet when the poor kid tried to say anything, Officials were jumping done his throat and telling him..NO!!!! It did not happen that way, or that is NOT WHAT YOU SAW!!!!! Why has what determines Vaughn's guilt, at the Grand Jury Hearing, never been told to parents, go on, to the public???? If Vaughn really did it, why not tell us how they know!!!! No witnesses are known, no jurors, no testimony from ANYONE, has been generally told to us by Officials, go on....told to the public. We are just suppose to believe, Vaughn is the shooter, because Sheriff Jones, said he was....what kind of justice is that? Why was Ralph Hall taken off duty, and put on leave, only to be hired back on to duty, after ALL THE PARENTS stated they did not want him, back on the force? Especially, after Ralph, made his public comment, about the boys' deserving to die, and he would have killed them too, and then....to write a letter to the Opelika/Auburn News, about his views, on these boys! I do NOT feel Mr. Vaughn, put the second bullet in his head, as the record by Le County Sheriff's Department, has told parents. And I often wonder, How did Lee County Officials cross State Lines, without consulting another agency? How can Officials be SO SURE, Mr. Vaughn is the guilty one, when Vaughn never admitted to anyone, not even in this so called suicide note, that he was guilty. There is no direct evidence that ties Mr. Vaughn, with the homicides of Our Boys! 8. What do you think the parents need, to get this case reopened? My opinion is we need to know what was said in the Grand Jury Hearing, we need to have access to the crime photos, and ALL OF THE REPORTS, Then, once parents know all of these items, THE PUBLIC NEEDS TO BE NOTIFIED!!!!!!!!! All of this made public, and allowing the Public to speak about all the deception and discrepancies, will be what gets, this case reopened. I also feel, with out this information, and making it public to the Parents, and the Community, fighting this with Lee County Officials, is a loosing battle. Officials can re-write and then re-issue, the reports, to Higher Officials, because NO ONE, NOT even THE PARENTS, know what the true facts of this case, REALLY ARE!!!!! Also, finding someone close to Ralph Hall, might bring the truth to what happened to Our Boys'. Ralph Hall is a proud man, if he did this....he's told somebody about it. 9. Why do you feel, or what were you told, when YOU, brought Sheriff Jones, the additional evidence, you have found at the crime scene? Sheriff Jones told me face to face, that HE did not NEED any additional evidence!!!! That to me seems really strange in this case, because of all the possible people and events that could have happened, ANY TYPE OF EVIDENCE, should of been important! 10. If you could tell Jason, one last thing, what would it be? I would tell Jason, to stay OFF, private property. Stay on your own property, or go somewhere legal. I really wish those kids, would of paid somebody, to ride somewhere, instead of being on private property. There has been a new law signed by Gov. Bob Riley, since the boys' deaths. It states, ALL PROPERTY is to be considered "POSTED"!!!! All the person owning the property, no matter where it is, how big, or small, has to do, is call the police. The person crossing onto their property will be arrested, and charged with trespassing. This law was put into effect because of robberies, drugs, and bad neighborhoods. I wish this law had been in effect, when the boys' were alive.

This week I want to speak about an interview, with a former Navy Seal. His name will not be revealed to protect his identity, but I will give him the identity of, "Mr. M".
Now, let me share some of the insight, of this interview. It seems with much surprise, that a lot of my theories to "The Boys Case", are well supported by someone, who has much more experience and training, then myself. Through-out this interview, we spoke of dismantlement, of the type of weapon used, distance traveled by a bullet, and the skills needed by someone, to commit a crime of this nature. What I was told by this expert, that a crime of this nature, was possible. But with the knowledge and training, also was needed, constant practice....to keep training skills currant, prime health, and mental status, all needed to be a factor. Mr. Vaughn was a Retired LT. C., in the United States Army. I am sure, sometime during his vast military career, Mr. Vaughn could have done a war mission, similar to, the boy's homicides.
But, given Mr Vaughn retirement had already existed for at least 20 years, his health, his age, and his Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, surely he was not as fast, nor skilled, as he once was, previous. In further conversation, other facts were discussed, with Mr. M. Such as dismantling a firearm, discarding this firearm into several pieces.........so it could not be found, and fragmentation of bullets, as not to be identified. It is the view of this Navy Seal, Mr. M., there is much more to "The Boy's Case", that HAS NOT BEEN REVEALED, to the Families, or to the Public. Mr. M. believes, illegal activity was involved.
Further into the conversation, Mr. M. told me that Post Traumatic Syndrome, WAS NOT A FACTOR, due to the 30 years Mr. Vaughn had been out of, military combat. Also, due to Mr. Vaughn's age, medical condition, and medications, Mr. M. felt it HIGHLY UNLIKELY, of 1 shooter, murdering all 3 boys, in the allotted time frame, of 15-20 minutes, which is how long it took Russell, to return to "The Boys".
Should this crime, taken place 20-30 years ago, then Yes, Mr. Vaughn may have been able to complete these homicides, but not now! After presenting Mr. M with some of the facts, of this case.........he expressed to me, He felt some type of cover-up by local Officials, was evident. It is My understanding and opinion, that Lee County Officials, knew more about this investigation and murders, then they let us know.
Mr. M is involved with extensive training in Sniper Maneuvers. He feels whoever is involved with "The Boy's Murders", is well skilled, continually practices, and is a very excellent, marksman. This person would have to continually train his skills, and his body, to commit such a crime.
Mr. M. also feels, given the description of the crime scene, autopsy reports, and all the other information ..........this crime required extensive planning, and possibly, "multiple shooters".
Being that "The Boy's" did NOT KNOW until less then an hour, they were even going 4-wheeling, the only other possibility would be: Multiple shooters! For the Lee County Sheriff's Department to conclude the only "shooter", was Mr. Vaughn, shows 3 things. 1. A total disregard for the actual facts, of this case. 2. A total lack of knowledge to what it would actually consist of, to do this crime.(which means further investigation of this case, should of been done.) 3. Or, the Lee County Sheriff Department had something to hide, or knew something, to not want this case investigated, properly! Given Sheriff Jones credentials, and the fact he teaches Forensics, at Auburn University, I feel it is clear, these first two...........for the most part, ruled OUT! Leaving only, # 3.......Officials having or knowing something, they were trying to hide! As for the possibility of Mr. Vaughn committing suicide by shooting himself in the head 2 times, Mr. M. feels this is possible, due to his military background. Having family that knew Mr. Vaughn personally and from the people I have talked to that knew Mr. Vaughn........taking in Mr. Vaughn's age, his medical health, his mental health, I would have to disagree with this.
I have also spoke to local people around the area, who knew Mr. Vaughn, and they tend to agree with my feelings, as well, on this issue.
I respect Mr. M.'s opinion, in this matter. However, not knowing how sick Mr. Vaughn was, or knowing him personally, as many area people I spoke to........ do,
I do not feel, Mr. M. has adequate knowledge of Mr. Vaughn, to make an accurate analysis, on Mr. Vaughn's death.
I DO feel Mr. M's extensive knowledge and training in firearms, and being a Navy Seal, does qualify him to pass judgment on "The Boy's" shootings! Now, we have an expert's input on this and he agrees this case needs to be re-investigated, and the facts to these homicides, were never found.
I would like to ask Everyone to review the past articles, and prepare for our own conclusions.
Next week I will be bringing you an interview, with Jason's Dad. Upon conclusion of that interview, we will start cross-analysis each of the facts, presented to date, among ourselves.
As a group we will use these facts and analysis, as a tool for our next letter, to Higher Officials. It will also include, a more detailed list of questions, for Officials to answer, upon the re opening of this case!
Please post comments, to "Our Article", about my son Daniel's Murder, on The WeeklyNews, under "A Search For The Truth", at www.theweeklynews.info or if you'd like just to email a comment, send to thetruth@akpcsales.net. Look for "Our New Chat" info, on Sundays, 9pm-10pm EST Daniel S. Foster September 9, 1979-March 26, 2006 Murdered In Cold-Blood!

During Artie's absence, I Debbi Foster-Murphy, will be updating, "A Search For The Truth". I've thought about what additional information, and assistance I can give, to get "The Boys Story" heard, and the case reopened. I feel readers need someone other then myself, my opinions and my views. I have decided during Artie's absence, to interview people of the Beauregard Community, in Lee County, Alabama. Some interviewed will be friends, some relatives, and some, I have not yet met....but support These Boys' and Myself, to get this case reopened.
I feel this will allow, YOU, the Readers, to see how this terrible crime, and the cover-up, by Lee County Officials, has effected so many more people, then just the families of "The Boys", themselves.
After reading, please acess, how.....other families, in the Beauregard Community, are reacting to the Lee County, and State of Alabama Officials! Compare these other families, with the answers of my interview, done in Part 4,........ Then, PLEASE....... determine YOUR OWN VIEWS, AND OPINIONS, and let these Elected Officials know how YOU FEEL!!!!!! Please do this by commenting on "A Search For The Truth", The Weekly News, and I will forward all comments to the Government Agencies!!!!
By speaking out against this terrible crime, and misjustice, LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD, to stop the Corruption, and Misjustice, these young men and their families, have had to endure, thus far!!!!!!
My first interview is with Janet. Janet is whose wedding, that Scooter Stephens, and Daniel Foster, were to participate in, March 27, 2004. Janet was not related to any of the young men, but is related to Daniel's then, fiance', Jennifer.
I would like to thank Janet for making her opinions known publicly, and standing up against State and Local Officials. I also, as Daniel's Mother, am very proud of Janet, to allow you, the readers, to get to know, the personalities, and qualities, of Scooter, Jason ,and Daniel. To show you, this is a community that is untrusting now, of their local officials.
1. Janet, how did you meet each of the boys?
Daniel, I knew of in high school, at Beauregard. I did not really meet him.......until he and Jennifer started dating, a year or so, before his death.
Scooter, I have known for a very long time. He and my brother Brandon, grew up together. Scooter, was like my little brother.
Jason, I never really personally, knew. I would see him in pass ing at school, but that was the extent of our relationship.
2. Is there anything special about each of the boys, you'd like our readers, to know?
Daniel, was a wonderful friend and companion. He was very witty, and could make anyone laugh. If you were feeling down, you could go see Daniel, and he'd be able to cheer you right up!
What can I say about "Scooter Pooter"? He was like a brother to me. He was caring, loving and funny, and just an all around good guy.
Jason, I didn't really know him, but from what I've heard, he was a loving son, brother, husband, and Father.
3. In "A Search For The Truth " comments, you stated you knew Scooter, the best. Could you please discribe what type of young man, Scooter was?
Scooter was a very caring young man. He would do anything for anybody, and would never complain about having to do it. He was a wonderful son, fiance', and best friend!
4. Is there anything that sticks out as being "odd", on the day of the homicides?
The main thing that sticks out is that Ralph Hall was the first to arrive at the scene. Why didn't he secure it? You would think being a volunteer he would know to do this. Also, why did the Lee County Sheriff Department, NOT allow other authorities, to help with the investigation that day? This didn't happen on the day of the homicides, but WHY couldn't Russell, testify before the Grand Jury? You would think the only eye-witness, would be able to! Sounds fishy!!!!
5. Do you know of anything "The Boys", may have done to Mr. Vaughn, or others, to warrant their deaths?
I do not know of anything, to warrant their deaths. They were all great men, and I don't think they would have, gone looking out for trouble. Around the time of the murders, there were alot of "Meth Labs", being discovered in the community. I wonder if they came across something they weren't suppose to? Even if they did, that doesn't give anyone a reason to murder three young men!
6. Do you feel it odd, that Mr. Vaughn, being officially blamed for the boy's deaths, was not ever arrested or charged, for the homicides, while he was alive? Please explain.
I find it very odd Mr. Vaughn was not arrested or charged while he was alive. In my opinion, Mr. Vaughn, Sheriff Jay Jones, and Ralph Hall, had something to do with what happened that day. I feel that Sheriff Jay Jones, arrested Mr. Vaughn, he would tell everything. I feel they were just trying to buy some time.
7. Do you personally feel, Mr. Vaughn was the responsible party, for the boys deaths? Please explain.
I do not feel Mr. Vaughn was the sole participator, in the boys' deaths. I believe there were others involved, but whom? These boys were strong, and would have done all they could to save the others. I just don't see how, a 60+ year old man, could manipulate these boys! I guess it's possible, but I just don't see it.
8. Did you know Mr. Hall, prior to the homicides? What is your opinion of him now?
I did not know Mr. Hall prior to the homicides. As far as my opinion now, He is an arrogant ***hole. Why did he make the comment, "If the boy's were on my property, I'd shoot them too"! That is NOT a comment, you make after a triple murder!
9. How did the boy's murders, directly effect your family?
The boy's murders hit my family hard! The murders occurred the day before my wedding. When we heard the news, we were devistated! The only thing that crossed our minds was, WHY? WHO? Who would do such a thing? Canceling the wedding crossed our minds several times that night, but Daniel and Scooter wanted us to go on with it, so we did. My brother lost his best friend that day! I lost a brother, and a friend!
10. What if any, information do you feel is relavent to this case, that has been excluded, from the original investigation?
I can not think of any at this moment. There are so many thoughts of that day, running through my head! I will be glad to get back to you, on this one.
11. What is you and your families view on the Lee County Sheriff Department, now that the Investigation has been formally, closed?
Personally, my view of the Lee County Sheriff Department is, that they are cold-hearted people! I definately CAN NOT trust them!
12. If this case is not re-opened, what do you feel it will effect in youself? your family? your community?
My family will be very disappointed.......We will continue to wonder, "WHY"? I don't think we will be able to trust the Lee County Sheriff Department, to handle any type of situation, ever again! It would not be good to live in a community where you can not trust, your public officials.
13. Janet, is there ANYTHING, you'd like to add to this, that I may have left out? Anything you may be wondering about, questioned, or feel is important to get, "The Boy's Case", reopened?
One of my concerns is, Why did Russell not get to testify? Who cares, if he is just a teen-ager? He could know information that could CRACK THIS CASE! Was the gun, that was used, in Mr. Vaughn's "suicide", found?
THANK YOU JANET, for your thoughts, feelings, and questions, about WHY......THIS CASE WAS CLOSED, and the fact of, how, THIS CASE NEEDS TO BE REOPENED!!!! I want to say how much I appreciate you doing this for me, and also, how honored I am, that your family would do this for "The Boys"!!!!
I also want to include a part of last week's article, that Art Wallace, wrote. I feel it will be important to readers who may be new to, "A Search For The Truth", or readers who may feel, there is no need to post, or feel like, "how could I change anything, for these 3 young men"?
By making a stand on this local issue, we will send out a message. A sign if you will, telling our government and local officials that we will not be miss-treated anymore.
For those who have not been posting but read along every week, and there are a lot of you. There is your reason to start posting and get involved. If you sit back and idle while we fight this, then you welcome this type of abuse of power, and abuse of people, into your life and your home, and most of all, you welcome it into your family.
By allowing it into you life and family, you may one day be the Debbi in an article like this, and think about how you will feel, when people can’t give you the respect, of a few words or a comment every now and then.

NYPD Readies For Summer On Beach 74 Street (This is one of my articles including my photos as it apeared in the local newspaper) As the warmer weather approaches and beach season is almost upon us, The NYPD is preparing for whatever emergencies may arise. Despite the rain and temperatures being in the mid-fifties, the special emergency services unit (ESU) launched a training exercise and took to the waters this past Tuesday morning. Arriving at Beach 74 Street at about 10:00 a.m., onlookers watched as officers suited up for the cold waters. By 11:15 a.m. the unit had its Jet Ski in the water and was going through rescue procedures. The officers were reviewing how to take hold of someone while on the Jet Ski, securing an injured person on the flotation device towed behind the Jet Ski and launch procedures to get the emergency equipment in the waters. Facing rough currents and high waves brought on by the weather, the officers spent several rounds in the surf, and the Jet Ski was eventually overturned by the waves. However, the recovery time was remarkably fast and they were back at their routine once again. By 1:00 p.m., the weather started to break and the officers were still out in the water training. It is with this level of dedication and efforts that help the NYPD ensure the safety of beachgoers enjoying the summer months, and the luxury of living in a beach community. Photos and article by A.
