SHOULD POLICE BE ABLE TO MAKE UNAUTHORIZED STOPS?
A trucker, and his wife in Shafer Minnesota, took it upon himself to
memorialize the people who died in the 9/11 tragedy. John Holgren
and his wife Amy, have taken out a loan, with their own money, and
had his rig painted, with all the names of the victims of 9-11. The
memorial contains ALL the names of people who lost their lives,
including those of the twin towers, and the passengers and crew, of
all 3 planes. Mr. and Mrs. Holgren call this patriotic and loving
memorial, "The Rolling Memorial".

Now, here is the problem. The couple is stopped many times by
police, to just take pictures of the rig. Is this correct? Should
law enforcement be able to make a trucker, who has done nothing,
wrong, stop his vehicle, for them to take pictures? It's your call;
I would like your opinion. Do you feel it is a tribute to the
trucker and his wife to be stopped by police, or do you feel the
stops are an abuse of authority?

I might add, Mr. and Mrs. Holgren, have hit a rocky financial road,
and have set up a website to try to avoid, their precious truck from
getting repossessed. If you would like to help, you may contact
them at, www.rollingmemorial.com
My personal opinion is, if the police are this interested in the
truck, why can't they help him keep it from being repossessed, by
having a charity donation, instead of abusing their authority, and
possibly endangering this couples life. I do not feel it is right
to stop this citizen, only to gain a picture. It could endanger
this couple's lives, or at the very least, not allow them to make
their living, which of course is long haul trucking.
