A Search for the Truth (part 28)
This week the article has a very special woman who has very
graciously agreed to do an interview with me.
It is my honor to introduce Sheri Stephens, who is the mother
of William (Scooter) Stephens.
First I would like to welcome you Sheri, and Thank you for
agreeing to be interviewed.
Sheri , would you please be kind enough to tell us what happened
exactly one week
ago this past Tuesday, November 14, 2006 while you were working at
the little country
store , which you do every Tuesday. Please explain in your own words
of the events
that led up to this and please tell us word for word exactly what
was said to you please?
Everyone that knows me knows that on Tuesday I clean a store out
here in the country. I have been doing this for a while. Today I
recieved a phone call at work and was told that Debbie and I need to
remember that we have other children. I ask the man what the hell
did he mean and he said think about it and remember that yall do
have other children.
Sheri, would you please explain your reasons for accepting our
invitation
to be interviewed?
I told Debbie that as soon as I read the files that she would be the
first to know what I had read and how I felt.
Sheri, can you please tell us after reading the weekly articals by
Art Wallace,
and Debbi Foster-Murphy, is there anything contained in the articles
in which
you feel is untrue or inaccurate? If so would you please tell us
what it is you feel is not true, or not accurate?
Everything that Debbie told me would be in the files was actually
there.
Sheri, it is my understanding that in the last few weeks that you
yourself , along
with Wanda and Wayne McCullars were invited to read the files and
records
pertaining to the murders of the 3 boys is this correct?
We were not invited. After reading all of this on the blog I wanted
to read all of this for myself.
Sheri, where did Wanda , Wayne, and yourself go to read these
records and files?
Lee County Justice Center
Sheri, I understand that the first week in which you and the
McCullars went to
read these files and records you had to go back? Why was this?
because the D.A. was to be on court all week.
Sheri, would you please tell us what files or records you and the
McCullars were
allowed to read the first time? And where were these files at in which you along with the McCullars located at?
The first time we were at the sheriff's office. We did not read
files but had everything gone over for us by investigator Jordan.
Sheri, in any of the files in which you were allowed to read in the
past two times of going LCJC was there any thing in which refenced
Mr.Vaughan felt that his life also could be in danger? Did he
refernce suicide in any way? Please expain
in your own words on this account.
There was a written statement a man made. He said Bernie told him if
he was ever found with a bullet in his head it would not be suicide.
Sheri, to the best of your knowledge was Debbi Foster-Murphy invited
along with you and the McCullars to also come and read the records
and files at the LCJC ? If not why would they exclude Debbi from
this invitation?
Like I said we were not invited but called up there and asked when
we could come and what we wanted to do.
Sheri, were the Grand Jury files available to you and the other
family to read?

Sheri, please correct me if I am wrong , but wasn't the Grand Juries
files included in the invatation you and the McCulars recieved from
the LCSD to view and read?
it was a file that we had requested to read
Sheri, what happened when you asked to read the Grand Jury files?
Would you please explain to us what was said and by whom this was
said by?
I was told that there were no grand jury transcripts.
Sheri, would you please tell us what files you were allowed to read
and the contents of these files in which you and the McCullars read?
We were allowed to read each of the boys files and Vaughn's.
Sheri, was there anything in these files about your son Scooter in
which was not true? Would you please explain what it was, and the
reaction of the LCSD when confronted with this information?
Yes, in one of these files it stated that my son's cause of death
was suicide.
Sheri, After you read everything that the LCSD provided to you and
the McCullars,was there anything that discredited Debbi Foster
Murphy?
I basically found everything that she said would be in the files.
Sheri, In your opinion do you agree or disagree with the findings of
Debbi Foster-Murphy's statements of accounts and actions of the LCSD
investigation of the murders of these 3 boys?
I agree with some but not with all and no one will agree on
everything.
Sheri, would you please tell us if you agree with Debbi Foster
Murphy on her findings of the LCSD investigation, or if you disagree
with the findings of Debbi Foster-Murphy's findings? What is it that
your would disagree, or agree with on Debbi's findings , and why?
Debbie talked to them more than I did so alot more was said to her
rather than me.
Sheri, what is your own opinion on the 3 boys murder's investigation
by LCSD?
I think in a lot of ways it was handled very badly and that there is
alot we will never know.
Sheri, Would you please tell us and our readers, what it was that
you found on all 3 boys graves? And when did you discover this?
rifle casings- one for each time the boys were shot.
Sheri, after you found the bullets on the boys graves, what does
this suggest to you?
That someone out there knows exactly how many times each boy was
shot.
Sheri, Can you think of ANYONE who would have done such a cruel and
vicious act to the parents and the boys?
No one but an ASSHOLE
Sheri, I have confirmation that this was Daniel Foster's first and
only time of ever riding his 4 wheeler ATV on Mr. Vaughans property
by Debbi Foster-Murphy. Is this also true of your son Scooter? Was
this his first time also of ever being on
Mr.Vaughan's property with his 4 wheeler ATV also?
to the best of my knowledge it was the first time and he was good
at telling me where he was going to ride.
Sheri, can you tell us if this was where Jason Barr and his brother
Rusell McCullar usually rode their 4 wheeler ATV'S on theproperty
owned by Mr. Vaughan?
Well I know that they live over there but where they ride I cannot
say for sure. There are several areas of dirt roads there.
Sheri, since reading all of the articles, comments, and going to the
LCSD, and reading what they gave you for the files and records
pertaining to the murders of the 3 boys has your opinions on
anything changed? And if so how?
My opinion that Vaughn killed the boys is still the same but whether
his death was suicide I do not think so.
Sheri, Since reading the files provided by LCSD, have you compared
your notes with those that Debbi Foster-Murphy has? If so please
explain in your own words your feelings about what you read and what
Debbi Foster-Murphy has read and
has copies of?
Debbie and I have talked on the phone and she would ask did you see
this or that and yes I actually did see what she was saying.
Sheri, Why did LCSD not copy off these files and records for all of
you so that you all had copies of the same files and information
contained in these files referencing the 3 boys murders and what
exactly the LCSD did according to investigating this case? Do you
find this odd that LCSD did not run off copies of all these files
for the family members , so each family had their own copy of
exactly what supposedly the LCSD has in their possesion?
I guess because the files were so big.
Sheri, Do you feel the real person who murdered these 3 boys is
still out there walking around?
I actually believe that Vaughn is the one who killed the boys.
Sheri, Do you have your own opinion of why these boys were murdered?
Especially since this was both Daniels and Scooter's first time
riding on this property?
I really don't know. Did they see something? Was he just an evil
human being?
Sheri, if there are any other comments you would like to make, in
which I haven't brought to light would you please add them to this
interview along with your own opinions on them please?
In some of your blogs it was stated that Vaughn being a 69 year old
man that they did not see how he could do this. Vaughn was a very
active person who did alot of walking and working outside. He was
also a member and president of a gun shooting club in Auburn. While
some considered him to be a good citizen there were those that
considered him to be one of the meanest people around. Neighbors
talked about how if he caught there dog in the yard he would catch
it and staple a warning note to the collar about if he caught it
again he would kill it and disembowel it.
I need to include that during this interview with Sheri Stephens,
she was very ill, so if some of the answer's seem alittle vague it
because of her being ill and everyone knows when your sick the last
thing you want is to have to talk or sit up. Rest assured when Sheri
is feeling better and back on her feet , she said "there is alot
more I want to add but I just don't feel up to it now, but I will
add it when I am feeling better." So I would like to say to Sheri, I
am very proud of you for your courage, strength, and honesty! We
sure could use alot more people in this world just like you. I not
only admire you, but I have the highest respect for you also!
Sheri, Again I thank you for this interview, and allowing me to be
the one to do this interview. Thank you very much Sheri, this was an
honor for me and I appreciate this very much.

I want to say a couple thing about the interview done with Sherri.....I am a naval brat and I know how mean and nasty ex-military officers can be,my dad was one,they are accustomed to disipline...a strict code of disipline, and I can see why he may have been that way. Take a look around our country....we as a society do not have the disipline we really should. I can see him being mean and nasty....but NOT to the point of murder.
And as far as the dog business goes....there's nothing I hate more than someone elses pet coming into my yard and doing his business there. I recently had to put my dog, Xena, to sleep, she did not leave our yard unless she was with me. But every other dog in the neighborhood found thier way there. If you cant control your pets where abouts....dont have them. Again...I do NOT believe this drove him to murder.
What about the mention of a note that if he(Vaughn) was found with a bullet in his head to know it wasnt suicide?
What about the grand jury files.....WHY WERE THERE NONE????? I thought a judge had sealed them?
Vaughn did not commit these murders....I would bet he knew who did.

Thank you very much for your compliments on the article, however; it wasn't me who did such a good job it was Sheri, all I did was write it down. I agree she is a brave wonderful lady and those who are blessed with actually meeting her are very lucky people. I have never met her, but would love to someday.This woman has a heart of gold, has a wonderful sense of humor and is just an all around wonderful woman, whom I have come to highly respect and admire...
I feel honored to have had the oportunity to interview her. I am so proud of her for her strength, honesty, and everything else this mother has pushed aside to also find out the truth of what really happened. If it were the other way around I don't know if I would have the guts, strength, sincerity, honesty, and standing up for one's beliefs reguardless of who disagrees with them. Yes Sheri is one hell of a mother, lady and I will always have the highest respect and admire her for her qualities and for being herself. She is the whole package when it comes to being a very lovable person. I just wish there were more people like Sheri out in our world. It would surley be a much better world if we did...

First off....no one is trying to make Vaughn out to be "Grandfatherly". He probably was a mean old cuss...that doesnt change the circumstances of his death or that of the 3 boys. If everything was on the up and up with this...why were people lied to? Why blame a dead man with a "no bill" when he wasnt a suspect till AFTER he was dead? And if he beat his wife....why was everyone so tight-lipped about it? If they knew something was happening at thier house...call the law. Acording to co-workers...she was beat regulary. And if he was such a threat...which the boys didnt apparently think he was....why take a chance on an encounter with him? Just ride somewhere else. So you see....it still doesnt add up.

"IN SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH" for OUR 2 BOY'S..........INSTEAD OF PRETENDING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS INVESTIGATION, and trying to pretend.....LCSD........... did an excellent job.............. as they are so eager to explain.
JUSTICE......in all of this can be obtained, despite the Lee County Officials improper investigation.
I know it, and so do you, and I also know..........OUR CHILDREN ARE GOING TO STRENGHTHEN OUR SPIRITS.........til JUSTICE, and our
"IN SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH" is finally over...........and most of our questions answered............ once and for all!!!!!!
I know this is NOT easy.
But, it is VERY HELPFUL, in dealing with the pain....... I know this horrendous act of violence, and feeling of helplessness.......I certainly have, and I am sure you do as well.

I'm just afraid, Officials such as these in Lee County, handling the 3 Boy's Case, and Mr. Vaughan's
"supposed suicide", ever followed this...
What a wonderful "creed", for someones profession, and passion......if it is upheld.
You, I am sure have kept these promises, to uphold your pledge, but so many Police Officer's, the Public learns these days..........do not!!!!
How could such a wonderful pledge of honesty, dedication, and compassion, be so misused in deceiving the very individuals, these Officials are supposed to be protecting?
I am sure this profession is stressful, but hell.......no more stress, then "good cops", as yourself, have experienced!!!!!
What makes an Official, give into personal gain, lawlessness, and greed?
What makes an Officer, break down this wonderful pledge....... to become a contradicting, unhonorable, and deceiving, Official....instead of what they swore to become, uphold, and abide by, as long as they are serving the Public?
Please answer Lawman, if you can, OK?
This is such a wonderful creed, I will surely show this to my Children Lawman.

As you know....Justice and I were eliminated tonight. But what a hell of a ride its been. Only 16 horses showed tonight, and we finisehed 13th. REALLY FAST HORSES there tonight, the cool weather has them feeling good. Theres always next year.

I too, agree Mr. Vaughan was not the nicest, nor sincere....individual.
But with the knowledge of Vaughan's mental abilities doubting HIS OWN SON'S cause of death..........was ever investigated properly............and knowing Vaughan himself, suffered greatly because of the misconduct concerning his own Son's death, and very possibly suspicious investigation........I FEEL VERY STRONGLY.....Mr. Vaughan, was going to give the 3 Boy's Parent's, the information needed to solve this Case and because of this,
he too..................... suffered the same consequences, Our 3 Children deaths, have caused all of their Parents to did.
How could a man who felt Officials, did a cover up concerning HIS OWN SON'S SUSPICIOUS DEMISE........then go and commit such a horrendous crime..........so 3 more sets of Parents, would have NO CHOICE OF GOING THROUGH..........this hell?????????????

This is purely my opinion......and with also considering the actual evidence LCSD has ever concluded belonged to Mr. Vaughan, I just DO NOT FEEL MR. VAUGHAN...................

What I was told, by Captain James Majors was:
Mr Vaughan was involved, with certain aspects of this Case, but was NOT~!~~~~~~~~~DOING ANYTHING ILLEGAL!!!!!!!
It seems like the more questions we find answers to Guys~~~~~~~~~~the more questions are so obviously.....creating even more questions, to try and find answers to!!!!!!! WHY?????
Should Ann Investigation, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE CASE IS CLOSED, be able to be explained in detail, to the Families........with allowing evidence, to connect at least most of the Crime.....to the supposed perpetrator????????

I had received 22 of these notices.
The notices do not include the email's contents, they are just a notification system, for my convenience, to allow me to know when I have mail, at this account.
After seeing these 22 notifications,. I went to:

At first, the account acted weird, like it has in the past.

LAST NIGHT I HAD PROBLEMS ACCESSING, my special link, only Artie and I know about!!!!!
Then, when I did finally did access the inbox.....there were
NO emails in my inbox.......my inbox was TOTALLY EMPTY!!!!!!!!(remember i had 22 notices of emails received in this inbox)

I have been told by Deb that ALL 3 boys were good boys. They were never in trouble and always respectful. Thats why this pisses me off even more. Why? To these 3 well mannered young men? But the facts are still the facts. Isnt it true that before you called 911...you called Ralph Hall? Why? And when you did call 911...how long did it take to get through? Wasnt it busy when you called? And in the only public meeting, why do you think that Russell never said for sure it was Mr. Vaughn he saw? He was the only eyewitness...and the description he gave to L.C.S.O. DID NOT match a desrcription of Vaughn. The only eyewitness to a triple murder and he was told he didnt see what he really did see. Your first sentence was I guess you would just have to know what happened that day? What DID happen that day? You seem to know.. you're words are telling me you do.
No one knows better than I about how hard it is to deal with your childs murder!!! My daughter was only 18 months old, when the babysitters 13yr.old son threw her head first into a dresser, 17 yrs. ago. She had a broken left wrist,2 missing fingernails,and grove pepper burns in her mouth!!!! Try dealing with that!!!!!We knew these people...trusted them....the same way you are supposed to be able to trust L.C.S.O. to do a THOROUGH INVESTIGATION. How can you honestly say they did? So much information has been told and retracted...how many times? There are people out there who have to live with this abominaton on their heads. And believe you me....the Man upstairs has a special place in mind for them!!!

You told me about a confrontation........ between You, Hall, Vaughan, and Russell.....and how hateful the man was to everyone.
Now your saying you never knew him?
How could you possibly know how mean he was, if you never met him?
When you did explain Vaughan was the "shooter" to me, you knew this man's name, and only knew he owned the land, at first.
Then later , you started saying he was terrible to his wife, but if you never met him, how would you know?
Being a landowner or fighting with your wife, does not make you, a murderer.
I was told there were also several statements of problems with Russell and Jason, riding their
4-wheelers, in the neighborhood, that are now in the records.
You are stating now, there were no reports written out. So how did they come into the files?
The reports are now in the records, but these same reports were NOT there, when I looked.
You just said, neither Russell or Jason had reports, so how did LCSD get these, into the boy's file?
How did these just appear after the case was closed?
Why would they just now, be there?
Where were these incident reports........ when I looked, concerning Russell and Jason?
Are these, like the reports that GOT LOST......... THAT JORDAN STATED......... Jason and Daniel robbed Mr. Vaughan, and took his gun collection, and the murders were Vaughan's retaliation?

And I am sure the reports, that are concerning incidents in the files now, concerning Russell and Jason are also lies........but why were these things even brought up, and why now...........do your children have incident reports concerning problems....that never happened.

Why was Scooter's autopsy stating suicide, when my copy from the Alabama Forensic Science, states homicide?
Why would there be statements that people have said on the records you looked at, that were not there before, when I looked at them.......... concerning both of our Son's?
What purpose would be the explanation for LCSD to have incidents, reports, and accusations concerning our children............other then an advantage, for the LCSD to somehow close this case..........?

I have no reasons to lie, and I certainly did see all the records they (LCSD) would show me, so why now............................... would they be different then when I looked.......unless, someone is trying to cover their tracks!!!!!!!
I saw you 2 days after this crime took place/ when I flew in from Washington.
You did not say this was Vaughan. Not till he was confirmed dead, and the LCSD, stated they KNEW HE DID IT.
Until then, you nor Russell have ever stated you knew who did it.
And Russell argued in the last family meeting, to Jordan.......everything that Jordan had drawn on the chalkboard was incorrect, concerning the scene.
Russell stated everything Jordan drew out, was improper, erased it, and redrew it, like he remembered coming back to.
What the scene layout was, when he arrived back, while the shootings were still taking place.
Why would Russell do this, if he did not think the LCSD was inaccurate, in their investigation?
Why has Russell NEVER STATED himself...........Mr. Vaughn, was the actual shooter?
These are a few questions I have, and oh yea, I got one more.
Why in the crime scene photo's of Vaughan , are there steel bullets casings, yet the Alabama Forensics.......... received only brass casings?
What happened to the steel casings?
I know you love your children, what Mother wouldn't!!!!
This is why I feel so confused, in your opinions............... because you are contradicting yourself, constantly.
This is exactly what the LCSD is doing, and also......what THEY WANT US TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!.

You also told me, Hall was putting on his shirt, when he arrived at your home.....why wasn't he already dressed, at 1:30 in the afternoon?
I know this is hard, I know this is horrific, but how can you know all the answers when the forensic reports, do not state any of the answers, and either has anyone............. from the LCSD.
ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS, ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ANSWERED, not keep making additional questions, with every turn of a corner...so to speak
.And all questions are not answered by the LCSD, as they should be, they are only contradicted!!!!!!!
There is a cover-up, and what I can't figure out is why............... you do not see these discrepancies, and feel the LCSD has done such a great job, in their investigation?

I think you have brought up, some excellent points, that I wish I could explain, all of them, to you........but for the most part, alot of these questions, I don't know the answers.
Let me answer the answers, that I do.
We all were told the 911 line was "out of order', so to speak....when the 911 call was placed. (when in the hell, is a 911 line EVER "OUT OF ORDER"?)
This is why, the 911 call came out somewhat as an
"all-points bulletin",
and not only the LCSD answered the call,
but also the Auburn, and Opelika Police Departments, and if I'm recalling correctly, the Alabama State Troopers, as well.
The SWAT TEAM was called, and I think, also............ a tracking dog, also.
This is when Sheriff Jones, felt the LCSD could
HANDLE THIS HORRIFIC MURDER SCENE, ON THEIR OWN!!!!!!
Why?
If you keep up with the Opelika/Auburn News, there have been many much less severe, and no where close to.................. horrific, and cold-blooded crimes committed,
where the ABI, and/or FBI Agencies,
as well as other Agencies, have been called by Sheriff Jones, to assist the LCSD Investigations.
Sheriff Jones felt additional Agencies help, was not necessary regarding this cold-blooded triple homicide.
Yet Captain Majors told me, the SWAT Team was assuming there was a sniper, somewhat like Malvo Case, that had happened on the East Coast, a few months earlier, where the father-son team, snipered several victims and several of them were dead on the scene, as well.
Apparently the entire neighborhood, was put into a
"lock-down situation",
until the "shooter", could be located, who had murdered the 3 Boy's.
Does this seem ODD, TO ONLY MYSELF?????????
A SITUATION WHERE......................
AN ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD IS SUPPOSEDLY UNDER SEIZE....................
AND THE LOCAL SHERIFF, DOES NOT FEEL any additional help/assistance, is needed, (who as I mentioned, was already on the scene) by a larger, better equipped, Agency ~????????
The description that was given to me, by Investigator Jordan the night of March 26, 2004....when I called the LCSD, from Washington State, was:
A long-haired, tall, blond-haired man, in his late 20's, with a blue and white striped shirt and was wearing blue jeans.
This is not the exact description, Russell gave on his interview, I later learned from reading Russell's statement from the night the murders, and also told by, Wanda, Russell's Mom....on numerous occasions.
THE THING IMPORTANT WITH THIS IS: RUSSELL HAS NEVER STATED THE MAN HE SAW SHOOT THE 3 BOY'S WAS~~~~~~~~~~~~~MR. VAUGHAN!!!!!!!!
Only Wanda, saying Russell did not identify the "shooter", to be Mr. Vaughan................... because LCSD never took Russell to view a line-up, including, Mr. Vaughan.
Or, Wanda stating: NEVER ASK RUSSELL what he did see, or who he saw.
Then infaticly telling me, SHE KNEW IT WAS MR. VAUGHAN, the 1st day when this happened, she just didn't know what the man's name was.
Mr. Vaughan was their neighbor, the 2 properties, back into each other. Mr. Vaughan's picture was in the local newspaper, numerous times....yet in the last Family Meeting, Russell stated EVERYTHING INVESTIGATOR JORDAN, HAD STATED TO FAMILY MEMBERS, was inaccurate, concerning the 3 Boy's, and where everything was located. Including the remaining 4-wheelers, the positions the 3 Boy's were laying, where the bodies were situated, and where HE WAS, when he (Russell), returned to the crime scene.!!!!!!!!
BUT THIS IS...................THE DESCRIPTION,
Investigator Jordan, TOLD ME THE LCSD WAS LOOKING FOR,
(as we were speaking in this conversation on the phone)
and had been looking for.......ever since the crime took place,
earlier in the afternoon, on March 26, 2004!!
So which statement is correct? Was it the description Wanda states Russell never gave, and the records recorded differently.......
OR THE DISCRIPTION I WAS GIVEN BY AN INVESTIGATOR,
who swore to me, EVERY AVAILABLE MAN............was looking for a person fitting this description, as we were speaking, (right then) on the phone???????
I, truly DO NOT KNOW, Dana, what is the correct description!!!!!!!
Thinking back to this horrible evening, and knowing the LCSD was actively looking for the murderer, as Jordan and I were speaking on the telephone......I WOULD ASSUME..........
THE INVESTIGATOR WOULD BE CORRECT, being JORDAN!!!!!!!!
the LCSD was actively looking for the perpetrator, and had been, since they arrived at the crime scene, on Lee Road 401......... approx. 1:38 pm~!!!!!!!!!

Sorry this has taken so long having a little trouble with my computer. It is smart and I am dumd where they are concerned.
I have read through all the blogs and I guess I need to say a few things. When I answered those questions I was sick running fever and everything. That is why the answers are so short.
Debbie and I had talked alot about what she had read in the files and told me when I went to look for this and that and I found myself looking for these facts in the files while I was reading. What Debbie and I had talked about was in the files.There was also alot of stuff that I read that we had not talked about. The only files that we read was the ones for each boy and the one for Vaughn. We were told that this was the evidence that was submitted to the grand jury. I was trying to get over the fact that I had just read that my son had committed suicide and this was just shaken off by everyone that it was just a typographical error. I am sorry on this blog if I misspell a word that is a typo. You are not suppose to make that type of an error on a legal document. I had to fight with my insurance company for seven months to get them to pay for the funeral because I spared no expense due to the fact that I knew I had insurance.
There was a paper in there that said two forencics people went to the sight and took some measurements.
there names I have wrote down but Debbie was told that no one went.
Ther is alot of stuff in there that I won't go into right now but I just want to add that I am in no way trying to hurt anyone's feelings or upset them I am just saying what I know I read and what I was told. I know that mine and Debbie's opinions are not the same but we are adult enough to know that we can have a different opinion and still respect each other and remain friends. After saying that I would like to say a big thank you to Debbie for understanding this and to Cindy as well, cause when it gets down to it all anyone wants to know is the truth.

I am so proud of your honesty and bravery in standing up to Sheriff Jones, and D.A. Abbett, concerning Scooter's supposed type-o, in his autopsy report, and really taking notice, to the discrepancies that are clearly noticeable, throughout the 3 Boy's, and Mr. Vaughan's case files.
I commend you, for really searching carefully, to find the information I had stated to you, was inaccurate in all of the Case Files.
I know we both spoke of the discrepancies, and contradictions that were present in the Investigation previously, from the very start of this Investigation, and you carried through with your word, to research these Files open-minded............
and see for yourself, what all was now contained within them.
It took so much courage to do this Sherri, and I appreciate all your heart, soul and mind, went through......
reviewing all of the horrific events, we had gone through, and bring these memories once again......to the present.
I am so proud of your determination Sherri, and I have the utmost respect for you....I always have, ever since you picked up my older boy's, that first day, for school....while you were their bus driver.
I guess this is why, when I was told...........
you were angered, and hostile towards me, way back at the 3 Boy's 1st Angel Anniversary,
I was both shocked, and hurt.
I felt everyone had their own way of grieving, and I would allow you, to have yours.
I think now....that we have once again started talking and communicating............
this was yet just another attempt, to separate the 2 people, who had questioned this Investigation, from the start......
I feel so badly, I just did not call you, to clarify this issue.
I just wanted to give you the respect you deserved.
I wanted to respect the wishes I was told you desired, in regards of myself and my family, and I was to afraid............
to be told face to face, (what I had been given in a message)your thoughts, and grievances...against me.
It hurt really badly, when these things were stated.
I just couldn't handle hearing it all over again from you, (as the source I had heard it from, at this point, I had no reason to doubt it to be....anything but the truth)
when it had been so specifically spelled out to me, by the source who made sure.....I knew exactly your true feelings and wishes......regarding myself.
I am sooo sorry I was so gullible, and did not have the courage to ask you face to face.
I just was so overwhelmed when all of this occurred at the Boy's 1st Angel Anniversary, I just couldn't bear.........

is a little behind schedule, this week.
Because of the details that Art and I, are enduring right now, I have just not been able to verify with my sources some of the details contained, with in it, so I am absolutely sure.........I have represented these facts completely and truthfully.
Art, I am not sure.....but last time I spoke with him,
(about 4 days ago) was still as terribly in pain, as those 1st few days directly preceding his surgery.
I am extremely worried about him, as he has not been able to "handle a ride to the City", because of the length of time to get there, to have an appointment, for a recheck with his Surgeon.
Artie did tell me, he has been back to his General Practitioner, but not being the highly specialized physician he needs, was unable to do much, but prescribe stronger pain pills and again referred him to, his Surgeon.
I will update all of you, as soon as I receive an email or phone call, from Artie.
No word yet, from Artie or Hillary, regarding the concerns you have expressed to me.
I have forwarded several of your e-mails, and also sent them additional e-mails, from our phone conversations, as well.........in hopes possibly Artie will feel up to, replying to these problems, we ALL ARE EXPERIENCING~~~on our personal email accounts, telephones, etc.
I love you all, and I AM SO APPRECITIVE,

I had asked Village idiot to respond to you, shortly after you posted, but I have not been available to really check over the
"comment", I dictated her over the phone, so I will now re-address your 1st comment, now.
I am very happy, You and Russell's Dad........ went with Ms. Sherry, to review the records, I had reviewed, many months previous.
I am very happy, all of you went to make your OWN DECISION, and were not just assuming, my interpretation of these documents to be correct, incorrect, or otherwise.
Everyone of us, HAS TO DRAW OUR OWN CONCLUSION.....to what the LCSD did or DID NOT DO, and decide exactly WHAT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE, or DOES NOT FIT, with what we were told at family meetings, and knew as the details, and to decide for Ourselves EXACTLY WHAT OF THESE DETAILS, are actually accurate, and what of these details of these records, is just plain IN-CORRECT~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!
I understand You and Russell's Dad, do NOT AGREE WITH MYSELF, in anything, and I respectfully honor your decisions.
I DO FEEL, a need to comment,
on the details I feel your posting, of the facts, that I remember and have documented concerning the scenarios, you are protesting.
I understand completely the panic, terror, and total chaos, your home was in, when Russell came home after discovering the (3) Boy's being murdered.
I could NEVER EXPRESS enough, how horrified I was...............
and still am,
that Russell had to witness the things, regarding the murder scene, that he did.
I agree with your reference to the (3) Boy's and Russell not going to where they originally stated they were going to ride. This was explained to myself, by many others in addition to yourself.
Did Russell ever state why, the (4) of Them........
all changed their minds from leaving your home and NOT GOING TO THE LANDFILL, to ride that afternoon? Instead deciding, just to ride behind your home, on the Vaughan's property?
As far as you being in bed for a year, this I have to say, I do not think, is totally accurate.
I remember you calling me in Washington State, as well as in Dadeville after I moved back here, saying You, Russell and his Dad, were going to horse shows, and the like.
I understand your sadness, because I know Ms. Sherri and I had a terrible time overcoming the "entire situation". (actually, I feel none of us, have overcome anything to do with Our Children's murders)
Especially the 1st year, but I do not recall anytime you "stayed in bed for about a year" when this first happened.
I do not understand how you can say you did NOT KNOW Mr. Vaughan.
You told me about a confrontation You, Russell, Jason, Mr. Hall and Mr. And Mrs. Vaughan had.....and other instances where you had confronted the Vaughan's and Mr. Hall, regarding the comments they all were saying, concerning Russell and Jason's riding, on Lee Road 401 on their 4-wheelers.
I also recall meeting with You and Russell's Father, the Sunday directly after this happened.
Neither You, or Russell's Father stated "YOU KNEW MR. VAUGHAN WAS THE "SHOOTER", go on you all knew the afternoon of March 26, 2004.
In fact my notes recall, this was quit the opposite.
You complained AFTER THE FACT, when Sheriff Jones stated Mr. Vaughan was possible the perpetrator,
how you were angered they never bothered to arrest, or even question Mr. Vaughan the Friday all this happened, and also WHY THEY HAD NOT......brought Vaughan in for a "line-up", for Russell to view and possibly identify the "shooter".
I also recall, You and Russell's Father stating, you KNEW NO ONE, IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, crazy enough to commit a crime, of this nature.
So HOW???????
DID YOU KNOW, Mr. Vaughan was the perpetrator, Friday afternoon,
when Yourself, nor Russell's Father, mentioned anything about Mr. Vaughan's possible involvement and guilt, till after his demise?
You are stating there were no complaints about your (2) Son's, Russell and Jason, riding their 4-wheelers in the neighborhood........
This WAS TRUE................. when I READ THE RECORDS, in D.A. Abbett's Office.
There was mention by one person only, concerning worriment of Your (2) Son's safety in riding, and the (2) Boy's speed while riding,
on Lee County Road 401........but that was it.
Now these SAME RECORDS, reflect/contain............
SEVERAL ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS, that apparently materialized, AFTER THIS CASE, WAS CLOSED...............
showing MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS, about Russell and Jason riding their 4-wheelers, on Lee County Road ~401, and Your neighborhood.
How did these "NEWEST COMPLAINTS" suddenly become part of the (3)Boy's Files, if this Case, has been CLOSED?
Does this not send "a red flag", to you, that the LCSD has added additional information concerning Your Children?????????
INFORMATION THAT WAS NOT PRESENT, when this Case was STILL OPEN??????????

Just like I know how Ms. Sherry feels about loosing her Scooter, in this terrible, tragic, unnecessary, cold-blooded violent, malicious, and vicious act, that ALL 3 OF US, HAVE ENDURED concerning the murders, of Our Children.
I to this day, have nightmares nightly about what happened to all (3) of our Son's and how they must have been terrified and shocked, when the "shooter" decided to take The Boy's Lives. and do what he did.
But what I DO NOT UNDERSTAND,
is how you agree totally..............
with the Lee County Sheriff Department, and especially the job, that Sheriff Jones did, concerning this Investigation surrounding Our Children's cold-blooded murders!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW???????? CAN YOU POSSIBLE NOT SEE, all the deception the LCSD verbally told us in these Family Meetings, they held............
the contradictions, the direct lies, and also NOW!!!!!!!!!!

I appreciate your Opinions. Truly I do. When I started this Investigating, of Our Children's murders............I never WANTED ANYONE TO ASSUME ANYTHING I STATED, as fact, until THEY THEMSELVES........REVIEWED THE RECORDS, and confirmed for themselves, what I was saying was actually accurate.
I am so sorry You and Your Family have had to endure any/all,
of this tragic crime and unnecessary in-accurate Investigation.
I feel this for Ms. Sherry, and Earl, Jason's Father, as well as all the OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS AND PARENTS, FRIENDS, AND LOVED ONES, OUR (3) Children's murders, involved.

Because I know Sheriff Jones, and the Investigators of the LCSD,
NEVER ALLOWED THE REST OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS...............
this privileged information you are claiming to know...........
this could possibly allow all of this MESS to be clarified, and possible "closure" (which in my case, there will NEVER be)in disclosure of this additional information, to the rest of the (3) Boy's Parents, Family Members, Friends, AND THEIR COMMUNITY!!!!!!!!!!
